Carbon Reduction Plan

1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Gondal Quality Care Ltd is fully committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. We align our operations with the UK Government’s climate change targets and the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap, ensuring that our high standards of care are matched by our dedication to environmental sustainability.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that were produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. They are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2025
Note: As this is Gondal Quality Care Ltd’s initial reporting year, the baseline emissions are calculated based on current operational data.
Emission Scope Description Total(tCO₂e)
Scope 1 Direct emissions from fuel combustion (Gas heating & Company vehicles) 42.0
Scope 2 Indirect emissions from purchased electricity across care facilities 25.0
Scope 3 Indirect emissions (Business travel, waste, commuting, & supply chain) 65.0
Total Emissions 132.0 tCO₂e

Carbon Intensity Metric: We aim to track emissions per resident/service user to ensure that as our care capacity grows, our carbon efficiency improves proportionally.

3. Emissions Reduction Targets
To progress toward Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 105 tCO₂e by 2030 (a reduction of 20%).
The Roadmap to 2050
  • 2027: Achieve a 10% reduction through LED retrofitting and waste optimization.
  • 2030: 50% reduction by transitioning to 100% renewable electricity and hybrid fleet conversion.
  • 2040: 90% reduction via heat pump installation and deep-supply chain decarbonization.
  • 2050: Net Zero (Residual emissions balanced by certified carbon removals).
